Student Research Analyst

Placement duration: Full time for sandwich placement year

Start date: Either June or July 2018.

We are happy to discuss with the successful placement student the possibility of part time work prior to the placement starting, in addition to potential work during studies and/or full time opportunities after graduation (subject to business need).

Location: Aztec West, Bristol.

Salary: £15,000.

The Student Research Analyst's duties may include:

  • Undertaking accurate research for headline (5-page) and comprehensive market (50-page) reports, with detailed supervision;
  • Undertaking telephone-based research, including fee enquiries;
  • Analysing data from a variety of sources, including researching planning applications;
  • Maintaining and updating existing Carterwood spreadsheets and data sources;
  • Populating existing Carterwood spreadsheets and assisting in the interpretation of the data;
  • Assisting with the development of spreadsheets for a range of analyses in relation to bespoke projects in the healthcare sector;
  • Completing accurate minutes in meetings both internally and externally.

You must be an undergraduate for the full duration of the placement, studying towards a degree in one of the following; candidates from other disciplines will be considered but need to have studied statistical analysis or analytical methods:

  • Geography;
  • Mathematics and Statistics;
  • History.

You will also need the following skill set:

  • Demonstrate a structured approach to planning, organising and prioritising your own workload;
  • Accurate; with attention to detail being a key requirement;
  • Highly computer literate with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word including document formatting, and Outlook;
  • Ability and commitment to learning other software packages as required by the company, e.g. GIS;
  • Enthusiastic and personable, works well within a team;
  • Ambitious with a flexible approach to ensure the deadlines are met in a fast paced working environment;
  • Deals with pressure without adversely affecting the team;
  • Ability to converse with clients across a range of ages and seniority;
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback;
  • Able to take responsibility for actions taken;
  • Conscientious approach to work is key to this role;
  • Driving licence, desirable but not essential.
