Aishling Barrett
Analyst

Aishling joined the consultancy team at Carterwood in 2016.

Aishling studied at the University of East Anglia, where she obtained a degree in Environmental Earth Science, and also has an MSc in Volcanology from the University of Bristol.

Aishling is responsible for undertaking initial research, analysing and interpreting data and producing detailed bespoke consultancy reports.

When she gets chance to escape the office for a week or two, you're likely to find Aishling climbing a volcano. A self-confessed volcano nerd, she has hiked nine volcanoes (so far) and even built a snowman on an active volcano in Iceland.

Hannah Cheese
Team PA

Hannah joined Carterwood in 2015, having previously worked as a PA in the Family Law Department in a solicitors practice in Bristol.

She is responsible for providing a PA role for the two directors and the rest of the team. Hannah also plays a vital role within the business, managing the day to day office administration functions.

In her spare time, Hannah enjoys walking and spending time in the garden. She also loves planning holidays in the sun.

Matthew Drysdale
Principal Surveyor

Matthew is a chartered surveyor who joined Carterwood in 2013.

He graduated from the University of West England in 2011 with a first class degree in Business in Property. Prior to joining Carterwood, Matthew worked at a national surveying firm where he represented a range of national multiples in lease renewal and rent review negotiations.

Working within the busy agency department, Matthew specialises in site transactions and specialist acquisitions and sales. He also regularly speaks on behalf of Carterwood at major care sector events.

In his spare time, Matthew enjoys spending time with his young family, and playing cricket and tennis. He is also a massive (secret) professional wrestling fan!

Tom Harrison
Principal Associate

Tom joined Carterwood in 2013 and was the company's first appointment at Associate level.

A chartered surveyor and an RICS registered valuer, Tom provides agency, consultancy and valuation advice to our clients.

He also undertakes specialist work for banks and insolvency practitioners, and is responsible for the sale and acquisition of specialist and elderly care homes.

Tom graduated with an MA in Real Estate and Business Management from the University of the West England.

When he's not giving clients strategic advice, Tom enjoys watching rugby, and playing tennis and squash. Though he's quick to add that with two young children, his spare time is few and far between!

Tom Hartley
Principal Agent

Tom joined Carterwood in 2010.

Tom has been involved in a range of sale and acquisition projects, with particular focus on the market within the South West and on the South coast.

Tom works on behalf of both private and not for profit operators. He also has responsibility for the discreet marketing of trading care businesses.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys travelling to new places, especially apres-ski resorts, and watching live sport.

Sadie Havens
Sales Administrator

Sadie joined Carterwood in 2011, taking responsibility for agency administration and secretarial services.

Previously Sadie had gained sector experience as an office manager for a surveying practice.

In the past year Sadie has been responsible for co-ordinating the sales administration function within the agency team. She also contributes to the ongoing development of in-house systems, in pursuance of RICS compliance regulation.

When Sadie's not in the office, she enjoys pilates and has recently joined a yoga class.

Anne Jenkins
HR & Communications Assistant

Anne joined Carterwood in 2017, taking on administrative duties for recruitment, induction, training, as well as various other admin duties for colleagues, shareholders and consultants.

Anne has a BA (Hons) in Politics from Reading University and spent 16 years working for BBC Wales as a Radio Production Assistant and then as a Researcher on the daily radio current affairs programme, "Meet for Lunch", presented by Vincent Kane OBE. More recently, Anne held PA and marketing assistant positions at Castleoak for six years.

In her spare time, Anne likes to explore the countryside and read.

Dawn Lawrence
Consultancy Co-ordinator

Dawn joined Carterwood in 2010, having previously worked as PA supporting the directors of a major Irish bank.

Dawn is responsible for assisting in the preparation of all client reports and documentation, as well as contributing to the management of the company's financial systems.

In her spare time, Dawn likes to keep fit and enjoys crazy golf, bowling and going to cinema with her family.

Victoria Millard
Senior Analyst

Victoria joined Carterwood in 2015, having previously managed both the admissions and retail functions at Bristol Zoo Gardens.

Victoria is responsible for undertaking initial research, analysing and interpreting data and producing detailed bespoke consultancy reports.

Victoria graduated with a first class BSc (Hons) degree in Geography from Swansea University.

When she's not wading through data, Victoria enjoys interior design and is an avid reader with a very large book collection.

Peter Nurse
Surveyor

Peter is an experienced chartered surveyor who joined Carterwood in 2008.

Having graduated from Leicester Polytechnic with a BSc (Hons) in Land Management, Peter's career concentrated on landlord and tenant, rent review and acquisition work.

Prior to joining Carterwood, Peter worked in the government, banking and retail property sectors.

In his spare time, Peter is a keen rugby supporter and enjoys running and walking. Peter is known amongst his friends for his love of heavy metal music.

Luke Sefton
Senior Analyst

Luke joined Carterwood in 2015, having graduated from the University of the West of England (UWE) in Bristol with a first class BA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Finance.

Luke is responsible for undertaking initial research, analysing and interpreting data and producing detailed bespoke consultancy reports.

As you might expect from a first class honours finance student, Luke has an incredible ability to do sums in his head. He's quick to add however that he's never quite as rapid or reliable as a calculator.

Sam Sefton
Student Research Analyst

Sam is our first placement student. An Economics student at the University of Exeter, he is currently undertaking a full time placement with us in our consultancy department. Sam will return to Exeter to complete his final year of studies in September 2018.

Sam's responsibilities include undertaking initial research, and analysing and interpreting data.

Sam enjoys sports such as football and Formula 1, and is known for finding a way to have salad cream with nearly every meal.

Jessica Stainthorp
Graduate Research Analyst

Jessica joined Carterwood in 2016, having graduated from Durham University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Physics.

Jessica is responsible for undertaking initial research, analysing and interpreting data and producing detailed bespoke consultancy reports.

When she's not at her desk, Jessica enjoys walking and has climbed the 20 highest mountains in England.

Alex Taylor
Associate

Alex joined Carterwood in 2010, having worked for the South West RDA as a development surveyor with responsibility for the project management of larger scale physical regeneration projects.

Alex works within the valuation team, with a specific focus upon the extra care and care village sectors, as well providing insight for care home feasibility studies.

Alex graduated with BSc (Hons) and a MA in Real Estate Management from University of the West England. He is a chartered surveyor and an RICS registered valuer.

Alex enjoys spending his spare time working on DIY projects and travelling with his family.

Jane Thackray
HR and Facilities Manager

Jane is a chartered member of the CIPD and joined Carterwood in 2017.

Jane brings more than 10 years of HR experience, and had previously spent more than 5 years as Head of HR & Training at Newcastle-based charity, Dementia Care.

Jane’s role at Carterwood sees her responsible for employee relations, HR and training strategy, recruitment, training and development, performance management, and ensuring a safe, comfortable and happy environment for employees.

In her spare time, Jane enjoys keeping fit, travelling, and spending time in the North of England with family and friends.

Jessamy Venables
Agency and Consultancy

Jessamy joined Carterwood in 2014 and is a highly experienced chartered surveyor with significant knowledge of the sector. Her role at Carterwood is focused upon a range of work in both elderly, specialist and extra care.

She is a former director of GVA, where she worked in the Healthcare team, having graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London in 1994 with a BSc (Hons) in Geography, and from the University of Reading with an MSc in Land Management the following year.

After more than a few years off, Jessamy admits she has recently started 'playing' the piano again. She jokes her aspiration is to one day play as badly as she did before.

Grace Wheelwright
Graduate Research Analyst

Grace joined the consultancy team at Carterwood in 2017 after graduating from the University West of England with a BSc (Hons) degree in Geography and Environmental Management.

Grace is responsible for undertaking initial research and analysing and interpreting data.

A keen horse rider, before studying at university, Grace's dream was to become a jockey. She even considered jockey school.

Andrew Whyte
Graduate Research Analyst

Andrew joined the consultancy team at Carterwood as a graduate in 2017.

Andrew studied at Aberystwyth University, where he obtained a degree in Geography and went on to receive a distinction for an MSc in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems.

Working as part of the consultancy team, Andrew is responsible for conducting initial research, analysing and interpreting data and producing maps for reports.

In Andrew's spare time he enjoys surfing and spending time by the sea.
