Carterwood complete care home development sale on behalf of Prime plc

On behalf of Prime plc, Carterwood have sold a development site with planning permission for a 75-bed care home to Care UK. The prominent, main road fronted site is located in Sarisbury Green, an affluent suburb of the greater Southampton area.

Bob Smaylen, development director for Prime, said, “Carterwood ran a short, discreet, targeted marketing campaign, resulting in multiple bids on the site, with Care UK ultimately emerging as the preferred purchaser. They also provided assistance to us in proving need for a new care service, which was ultimately invaluable to our achieving a successful planning consent. We found Care UK to be an incredibly straightforward party to deal with and we are sure they will make a great success of the Sarisbury Green scheme.”

Matthew Drysdale, director, Carterwood, commented, “Sarisbury Green represents our second development sale on behalf of Prime. Because of the quality of site that Prime had selected, our challenge was not in generating interest in the site, but rather in delivering best value and deliverability for our client. Care UK  ultimately emerged as the preferred purchaser through ticking both of these boxes.”

David Gannon, Head of Acquisitions at Care UK, said, “We are delighted to have completed the purchase of this site at Sarisbury Green which complements our growing portfolio of homes in the region.   Our new home at Hythe will open later this year and we hope to be starting work on this site at Sarisbury Green very soon so that we can be ready to welcome the first of the 75 residents early in 2021.”
