Carterwood sponsors NCF conference and Rising Stars programme 2019

We are delighted to announce our continued partnership with the National Care Forum (NCF) by once again sponsoring its annual conference, which takes place on 5 June 2019 at The Tower Hotel, London, and its continued Rising Stars programme.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Shaping the agenda for great care’, focussing on the future of social care and support. Speakers will explore some critical areas for social care around future funding, meeting the needs of changing communities, equipping people to benefit from technological opportunities and recruiting and retaining a skilled and effective workforce.

The Rising Stars programme, an NCF initiative in its third year, was created to develop leadership skills through mentoring and learning opportunities. NCF members are invited to nominate managers and each year 10 managers are selected to participate in the programme.

This year’s programme will be launched during a dedicated lunch at the annual conference, with the Rising Stars and their mentors attending. Carterwood’s own Rising Star, Grace Wheelwright, will be speaking about her experience at Carterwood and how she has been supported in her career development.  Grace joined our advisory team in 2017 after graduating from the University of the West of England with a BSc (Hons) degree in Geography and Environmental Management and was promoted to analyst in February. Grace supports early stage business generation and is responsible for undertaking initial research and analysing and interpreting data.

Keynote speakers, panel discussions and workshops will provide delegates with the opportunity to debate human rights and care, and learn more about what the future holds in terms of funding, retirement living, nursing provision and more. The conference also hosts a number of exhibitors and offers excellent networking opportunities with senior executives from the not-for-profit sector.

Carterwood’s managing director, Amanda Nurse, and director, Tom Hartley, will also be representing Carterwood and available on Carterwood’s stand. Amanda says: “We are proud to support the NCF, which works so hard to promote quality care through the not-for-profit care sector. We are very much looking forward to the stimulating debates and seeing the third generation of Rising Stars.”
