Carterwood support ARCO’s Vision 2030 initiative

Carterwood are proud to announce their continued partnership with ARCO throughout 2020 as an ARCO supporter. We have worked closely with ARCO for the last 5 years and are looking forward to the opportunity to share our research and market analysis with many of their members.

ARCO have launched Vision 2030, with the vision for 250,000 people to have the opportunity to live in retirement communities by 2030. ARCO believe that meaningful, long-lasting partnerships and commitments are at the heart of solving the challenge of meeting the housing, care, and support needs of our ageing population. Part of this vision focuses around gaining clarity in the planning system, which does not adequately consider the increasing housing and care needs with the element of care and support delivery often overlooked.

Carterwood offer expert opinion based upon market leading data, with a focus on older people’s housing and care home markets. Our analysis helps to support planning, inform advice regarding commercial due diligence, and focuses on the feasibility, viability and pricing of older people’s housing schemes.

Carterwood invest thousands of hours in research every year, to make sure that our market analysis is always supported by quality data. Throughout 2020, we will be sharing our latest research to benefit ARCO members; this research will look closely at the status of the UK’s planned older people’s housing (OPH) provision and examine the potential impact on the quality of the current supply on a regional basis and the opportunities afforded by this planned supply.

Amanda Nurse, managing director at Carterwood, commented “ARCO’s commitment to improving the retirement living sector is demonstrated by the fantastic work they are doing, committing members to the ARCO Consumer Code, promoting confidence in the sector, and ensuring members of the retirement community have access to the latest data and expertise. We are really pleased to be able to support both them and their members and look forward to sharing our research and data insight in what is undoubtedly a time of change.”

Michael Voges, executive director for ARCO said “The UK planning system needs to change, and any future expansion of the sector will require the planning system to be much more consistent and clear about the role of retirement communities, giving local authorities the support and guidance they need to meet local demand. Giving our members access to Carterwood’s excellent market insight will be beneficial to all.”

There are lots of exciting things in the pipeline, so watch our website and LinkedIn page for details of forthcoming events under our partnership.
