We are looking for a Trainee Data Engineer to help with the day to day administration of our database systems.  Full training will be provided and a summary of the main tasks is listed below:

The role

  • Undertaking daily and routine data checks in our inhouse databases
  • Running data validation scripts & investigating anomalies
  • Validating and checking daily and routine load scripts
  • Validating and checking daily and routine backup scripts
  • Checking integrity of the environment, disk utilisation, disk space, etc.

 

The person

  • Educated to degree level
  • Highly computer literate and willing to learn scripting languages & SQL
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent numerical skills
  • Have a logical and methodical approach to tasks
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy
  • Positive attitude, personable approach and the ability to work well within a team
  • Conscientious approach to work
  • Proven ability to prioritise and work autonomously on large tasks and deal with changing priorities.
