Amanda has worked exclusively within the long-term care sector since qualifying as a chartered surveyor in 1992. In 2008, after many years working for a national surveying practice and a period with the corporate finance team at Hazlewoods, she and Ben Hartley established Carterwood, just in time for the biggest recession in almost a century!
As she puts it, “The timing could not have been worse…or better, depending on your perspective. Setting up a business then was tough, but it taught me a few lessons I’ll never forget!”
Having survived the challenges of the first year, Carterwood has gone from strength to strength and is now firmly established as a serious player within the social care arena. The business prides itself on having a style and personality that very strongly reflects Amanda’s enthusiastic approach to client service and delivery.
Amanda is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the business.
Amanda is known amongst her family and friends for being the only person to be in ski school after 10 skiing holidays, and for baking a mean Victoria sponge.
